His suspicious movement immediately alerted the security personnel and he was pursued, apprehended and wrestled to the ground with his bag, which was subsequently collected from him while he was arrested.
On opening the bag, Policemen on duty found some ingredients that are useful in making Improvised Explosive Devices like broken bottles, military type metal water cans, Liquid content that is yet to be ascertained by forensics. Also found in the bag were various identity cards, vehicle plate numbers, among other items.
On interrogation, the suspects according to a Senior Police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, missed his way to the Force Headquarters.
The police source however, disclosed that it was too early to conclude if the man was a bomber, pointing out that investigation has already commenced.
He noted that the Police is working on the premise that Badamasi Saliu might be a ‘suspected spy’ for a terrorist group, saying that there was no way the suspect would argue that he missed his way to the Force Headquarters.
