The National Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, on Wednesday confirmed that he has personally begun discussions with the national chairmen of leading opposition political parties in the country to remove the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 election.
The opposition parties are Action Congress of Nigerian (ACN), Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) and Labour Party.
Onu, who spoke at the ANPP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja expressed disappointment at the attitude of party members and said the leadership of the party will continued to work hard to reposition ANPP for the challenges that lie ahead.
Aside his personal efforts, he disclosed that the party has also set up a six – man Inter - Party Contact Committee that will hold talks with other opposition political parties with the aim of strengthening multi-lateral understanding for the emergence of a strong platform.
The membership of the committee, Onu said will be enlarged to include as many as 20 ANPP leaders so as to fully tap the varied experiences within the party for the good of all.
He also called for a review of the Electoral Act to accommodate a provision that will make it mandatory for the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that all major political parties, especially those in opposition, are involved in the processes leading to the award of contracts for the production of sensitive election materials.
