Heavy Shootings Reported In Damaturu, Yobe State

The city of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, came under the attack of heavily armed militant youths, a source told Olufamous.com from the city. "Gun shots are coming from different angles," he said.

Gasua road and adjourning streets in the state capital are said to be a no go area as at the time of filling in this report. Source told Olufamous.com that many residents of the city are trapped indoors.


The Joint Task Force in the area said it has mobilized enough men to repel the rampaging youths. A security source promised that the situation will be brought under control.

No one has been able to identify the reason for this latest attack on the city.
