On Dana Air crash
On behalf of the Medical Guild, he called on the Federal Government to thoroughly investigate the circumstances which led to Sunday’s plane crash in Lagos.
Odusote urged the Federal, state and local governments to be more proactive in putting in place effective, coordinated emergency and disaster response mechanisms to deal with man-made or natural disasters to reduce the number of injuries and deaths in future.
He said: ”Following unconfirmed reports in the media questioning the airworthiness of the affected aircraft, we implore the Federal Government and its agencies to use this as an opportunity to carry out a comprehensive review of the transport system in general and aviation system in particular and speed up reforms earlier planned especially reassessment of all airlines and airplanes in the country, deployment of total radar and coverage of Nigeria and rehabilitation of airports in the country.
“While the nation mourns this tragedy, we wish to add our voice to the growing number of those who want a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the plane crash.”
