Nigeria does not run a democratic system of government but a dis-functional civil rule, this is the view of constitutional lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Robert Clarke.
Lambasting President Goodluck Jonathan for running an over-bloated and confused government, Mr Clarke took a swipe at him saying “I can assure you he does not know all his Advisers; he cannot name even twenty of his minsters off head”. (See the video below).
Clarke, who was speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, said “I have seen it pre-independence governance, I have seen first independence governance, I have seen military governance, I have seen the second republic governance and I am seeing now the so called third republic governance”.
Having a clear view of what governance has been before Nigeria's independence in 1960, the legal luminary said “I can assure you from my own experience, this is the worst since 1999, and this is the worst system of governance we have”.
He also accused ministers and governors of having a long thread of aides that are paid with tax payers’ money for doing nothing.
