6 Ways To Build A Better Relationship

Relationships require a lot of work if they’re to succeed. Here are 6 ways to ensure that your partner is happy and satisfied most, if not all, of the time.

1, Send them lexts (love texts):
After being in a relationship for a while, people tend to relax and not try as hard as they used to in the beginning. Human beings require constant affirmation and appreciation and this mostly applies to that special person in your life.   When you appreciate the little things your partner does, they tend to make even more effort to do bigger things. So try sending  a text every day this month that acknowledges something you appreciate about  the one you love.
2, Look on the bright side
It’s no secret that positive people are more fun to be around, and the same applies to your relationship. In a brand-new analysis of the most important strategies for overall relationship satisfaction, positivity landed at the top of the list. No one wants to be around a person that radiates negative energy all the time as this is strength sapping. Make an effort to maintain a positive outlook to your relationship and life in general. Your relationship, and indeed your life, will be better for it.
3, Open up more
For a stronger bond, you have to create space for openness in your relationship. “We give as much as we get in terms of disclosure. The more open you are, the more likely your partner is to open up,” says  Dr Brian G. Ogolsky, Ph.D., study co-author and assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign”It leads to deeper conversations and connection.” “In terms of relationships, positivity really means those little fun,
romantic gestures.” The best relationship is the one where the partners have very few secrets and know what to expect from each other.
4, Don’t try to change them
This is one of the biggest mistakes couples make. It is unrealistic to expect a person to change for you and you only end up frustrating yourself and your partner by attempting it. ”Happy couples know their partner’s differences, and have pretty much stopped trying to change the other person,” says Darren Wilk, a certified Gottman Couples Therapist with a private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia. “Rather than trying to fight their partner’s personality style, they instead focus on each other’s strengths.” Each person was made unique for a purpose. Love your partner the way he or she is and don’t try to force them to change.
5,  Look good for your partner
It is normal in a relationship to become lax with your appearance after a while.  You pay less attention to looking good than you did at the beginning of the relationship. It’s time to change that. Paying attention to your appearance or wearing something special is a great way to show your partner that he/she is important to you. Putting in the extra effort shows that you’re still serious about the relationship.
6,  Make time for your partner
One major reason why  relationships crumble  is because one partner feels neglected.  That special person in your life needs you to make time for them and their needs. One way to cultivate this kind of intimacy is to offer your partner just 20 minutes of your undivided attention, where you just listen, and ask questions that pop up, but keep the focus on your partner. This way you increase the connection between you and strengthen you relationship.
