Ghanaian actors John Dumelo & Majid Michel have both received an outstanding award from The City of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
They were both presented with certificates of honour at a ceremony that took place at Philadelphia City hall on Wednesday the 10th of April 2013.
The 2 Africa’s top actors were appreciated for their sustenance of African culture and their immense contribution to the development of humanity through their acting career and self-less humanitarian contributions.
They were presented with a Citation for their outstanding contribution to the African movie industry. Dignitaries in attendance included; Honorable Jannie L. Blackwell, City Council of Philadelphia, Hon. Stanley L. Straughter, Chairman of the Mayor’s Commission on African and Caribbean Immigrant Affairs, and Honorary, Consul The Republic of Guinea and Dr. Samuel Quartey, Chairman/African Caribbean Business Council, Imhotep Charter School & Ga Dangme Foundation.
“History has been made! Honored by the city of Philadelphia for outstanding contribution to the African Film Industry and charity work. We are honored to be honored.” – said the actors after receiving their awards.
