Trouble isbrewing up again in the Lagos State chapter of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) as a group is currently challenging the election of Victor Osuagwu.
The group consists of aggrieved members unhappy with the Lagos AGN election that brought Osuagwu into power.
Prominent amongst them are Emeka Rollas, Frank Dallas, Mathias Obiahagbon, Paul Obazele and Pedro Aganbi who lost to Victor Osuagwu in an obviously controversial election.
A Nollywood source said that in the last one week, text messages and BBM broadcasts have been circulating, as the opposition campaigns to secure more supporters for their cause: to challenge and nullify the election of Victor Osuagwu as Chairman.
In a phone conversation, Emeka Rollas tells us ‘this is an election that was faulted in every ramification. Victor’s thugs disrupted the election and surprisingly he was declared as the winner. There’s not much to say. We have already taken legal actions and we would let the court handle that.’
At the time of filing in this report, our reporter could not reach Victor Osuagwu for comments.
On Saturday, June 15, 2013, Victor Osuagwu was declared winner of the Lagos AGN election at the capacity filled Remi Tinubu Hall of the Surulere Local Government, Lagos with 80 votes as against Aganbi’s 69 votes.
