Ogun SG Opens Bank Account for the Abandoned Mother of Triplets

30-year-old house wife from Ogun State, Mrs. Bosede Akapo, whose husband has escaped when the news of the birth of triplets reached him last week, has received massive assistance from her home state.

Ogun State Government has initiated the opening of a bank account for the woman to enable those who want to assist the woman and her children do so, as the result of many calls from the people and good Samaritans, who got touched by the story.

The account was opened with Sterling Bank with the Account name: Akapo Taiwo Kehinde Idowu, Account number: 0021422589, Sort code: 232170012.

The state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Elizabeth Sokunbi had led the government delegates to visit the Afojupa village house of the mother of the babies in Owode-Egba in Obafemi/ Owode local government area of Ogun State with the traditional ruler of Owode, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo.

Ogun State Government also donated clothing materials, babies’ needs as well as cash.

Mrs. Akapo expressed appreciation for the government gesture and also thanked the traditional ruler for his priceless support before and after she gave birth to the triplets.

She seized the occasion to appeal to her runaway husband, who has not shown up at home since she delivered the babies, to come out of hiding, especially now that government has offered assistance for the welfare of the children.

The 30-year-old mother of five, Bosede Akapo was assisted by a neigbour on a motorcycle to the hospital on Wednesday, 24 July, 2013 when she was pressed with labour and thereafter delivered triplets at Ore-ofe Maternity Home in Owode-Egba town.

The monarch of the community paid the hospital bill.

Both the woman and her children are in good condition, though, the head of the family has not shown at home yet.
