Obi accused of plot to destablise APGA

By ENYIM ENYIM
ONITSHA— Stakeholders of  All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, yesterday, alleged that Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State was plotting to collapse the party at the end of his second tenure.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Chief Onwuka Ukwa, who was reacting to newspaper report credited to the chairman of Governor Peter Obi Campaign Organisation, Chief Sylvester Nwobu-Alor, that no reconciliation of aggrieved factions had taken place in the party, described as unfortunate the governor’s grand design to destabilise APGA that gave him the platform to govern Anambra State for two tenures.

He said: ”Governor Peter Obi’s  insistence through Nwobu Alor to generate fresh crisis in APGA when we have 11 months to the governorship election in the state is looking like a clear confirmation of this widely held view.
“APGA as a party, has given so much to Governor Obi, his government and family. The party has given the governor solid 10 years of support but all the party got back is treacherous abandonment by the governor.”
Ukwa described as false  insinuations by Nwobu-Alor that no reconciliation had and would take place in the party unless the national chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, vacated his seat.
He said: “ I do not want to take up any personal issue with any one. As a party elder pioneering this peace and reconciliation that has taken place in our party, I am begging members to allow peace to reign for us to assist Governor Peter Obi  to hand over to another APGA governor.
“We cannot win election fighting. For those who have continued to call for the removal of the national chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, we have passed that stage.”
