AKURE – THE N156 billion 2012 appropriation bill of Ondo State was yesterday signed into law by the governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko just as he said that the state’s N27 billion bonds in the capital market had been oversubscribed by N2.1 billion.
Governor Mimiko had presented a budget of N150b to the lawmakers only for them to jerk it up by N5billion.
The lawmakers while giving reasons for the increase in the budget said it was as a result of pleas by the MDAs to accommodate some important demands and to complete all ongoing projects in the state.
Dr Mimiko said in Akure at the signing of the budget that ” within just one week of the bond of Ondo State in the capital market, it has recorded a huge success to the extent that it has been oversubscribed by N2.1 billion.
“This is an indication of the confidence of the economic communities in the economy of the state.”
Mimiko said the “Caring Heart Budget 111” is with a major objective of completing all the on-going developmental projects across the state and to consolidate on the achievements of the last two years.
