Zambian musician Mampi became the ninth housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother Stargame and the first evictee from the Upville. Felix Eupal spoke to the 25-year-old on the phone.
What’s it like now that you are out of the house?
It’s very different. I feel I am free and feel much more at ease than when I was in the house.
Are you saying that in the house you weren’t free?
No, it is nothing like that. In the house there is a lot of pressure and you have nothing to do save for the various tasks.
You received the least country votes and six nominations from your Upville housemates; why do you think they wanted you out?
All of them thought I was a threat to them. That’s why when they got the chance, they all wanted me out.
Were you hurt learning that you received six nominations?
You enter into the house knowing that such things will happen but I’m not hurt.
They called you the gossip queen in the house, why?
I went into the house with no intention of being like that, but you find different people saying different things with different characters – you just find yourself changing.
What are you going to do when you get back home?
I am going home to be with my family and I have learnt a lot, so I will record another song.
