Militants Invade Christians Homes In Plateau, Kill Many



“Presently the casualty figures are not yet known. But there are casualties,” Captain Salisu Mustapha, a spokesman for the military special task force deployed in the region, told AFP.

Muslim herdsmen attacked a Christian village in Plateau State on Saturday, killing a yet to be ascertained number of Christains. Olufamous.com gathered that the attack on Kankuru village in Riyom local government area, close to Jos, started around 7:00 am.

The militants were said to have stormed the mainly Christian village with guns and matchetes, taking innocent lives with impunity. Sources told Olufamous.com that the military had taken over the area to contain the violence.

The state police PRO, Emmanuel Abuh, said policemen have also been deployed to the troubled area.
