Nigeria Policemen Gets UN Medals For Good Conduct

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan has presented special United Nations, UN, medals to 34 Nigerian police officers for their exceptional performance in the discharge of their assigned roles in the troubled country.

The award recipients, who included three women and 31 men, are serving in the UN peace-keeping mission in the troubled South Sudan.

Decorating the officers with their medals, the Special Representatives of the Secretary General, SRSG, Mrs. Hilda Johnson, described the honour as hard earned, considering the enormous commitment and sacrifices the officers made in their efforts towards enthroning the rule of law in the newly independent state.

On his part, Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Mohamed Abubakar, commended the officers for their good conduct, advising them not to deviate from the core values of discipline, professionalism, selflessness and dedication to duties
