Oyedepo's Pastor Tries to Kill Church Member; Arrested with Gun

Lord have Mercy! Strange things are really happening in churches these days:
A pastor of the Bishop David Oyedepo-led Winners Chapel has been arrested over illegal possession of a pistol by the Benue State Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Katsina-Ala local government area of the state.
Olufamous.com gathered from a credible source that the pastor, Collins Obuh, was nabbed with the gun on Tuesday at the church premises when he allegedly attempted to kill Philip Toryila, an accountant of the church.
It was learnt that the duo had a serious disagreement that evening following the refusal of the accountant to release fund to Obuh to do a project for which he earlier requested for. Sources disclosed that the failure on the part of Toryila to release the said money angered the pastor who immediately ordered the accountant to give him the money or face his wrath.

The accountant, however, according to a source, remained adamant since the church council did not approve for any such project to his knowledge. The argument gradually degenerated to the point that they began to shout at each other until a fight broke out between them.

Head of SARS in the area, Inspector Godwin Utenge, who confirmed the incident, said the police came to the rescue of the accountant following a distress call by one of the church official.

Benue Police Public Relations Officer DSP Daniel Ezeala confirmed the incident, saying “the arrested pastor is now in custody of the state police command”.
