Reports states that the 70-year old new mother, Rajo Devi, and her husband-72- have been rying for over 50 years to get pregnant, all to no avail. Her husband is reported to have been married twice but was unsuccessful in becoming a father.
The 70-year old Devi became pregnant after undergoing an in vitro fertilization at a hospital in India soon after her doctors confirmed that she is healthy enough to survive what is clearly considered a high-risk pregnancy. Mother and child are said to be doing very well.
Devi is the second 70-year-old in India to give birth. Back in July last year, Omkari Panwar(a mother of two, and grandmother of five) gave birth through C-section to twins(a boy and a girl), also after undergoing in vitro fertilization.
